Blindside Returns for the Six Nations

Posted 24 January 2020

Who’s looking forward to the Six Nations starting next weekend? We certainly are. Partly for the rugby, but mostly because we get to bring back Blindside. Brewed specifically to enjoy whilst watching the rugby, Blindside is a cracking session ale at 3.9%. It’s what we like to call an ‘easy drinker’, thanks to its simple, yet moreish flavour profile.

We’ve refreshed the recipe slightly, substituting Mosaic hops for  Simcoe. This gives a craftier, more distinctive ‘earthy flavour’ which complements our later addition of Chinook hops which we have dry hopped this brew with. The pine flavours from Simcoe coupled with the same aroma from the Chinook hops means that Blindside is not overly bitter, but has classic well-rounded fruity notes for a delicious finish that you’d expect from this light copper ale. The best way to describe Blindside is that it’s robust but light, like a good number 6 should be!
